This past year has been a good one for my art. I've been going to school and working at art experimenting with different techniques and subject matter trying to find myself
artistically. I don't think
I've succeeded in that goal but some good
pieces came out of it. These are the
highlights of what I've been doing in the past 8 months.

This is my newest piece. I've had this Idea for a while but never had the ambition to put it all together. It took me almost a week to do, painting for a couple hours each day. I tried to paint it as loose as possible. My favorite part is the broken heart that formed in the negative space of the the sky. Click on the images for a larger view.

Some experimentation using airbrush and frisk it.
Experimenting with some color. Doing a more graphic style in gouache.
The boom boxes! These were a blast to make and everyone seems to love them. The Idea was to create a special portfolio for my submission to Art Center. I made the first one too big and they wouldn't accept it so I made a smaller second one.

This is a piece I did for class. The assignment was to create a paper figure and then do a painting of that figure. I chose to do a polar bear because I think they're rad.

This is another piece I did for class. I really just wanted to paint some indigenous peoples. I chose to do Africa as a theme using the zebra stripes to tie it all together. It's acrylic and acrylic ink on wood.
I did both of these girl pieces at a youth center in east LA called La Bodega. I haven't been able to get a finished picture of the second one so I'm posting this one until I can get some better flix.
This is something I painted a while back. I didn't know what to paint so I just put some
references together and went for it. I guess I lost interest because I never finished it but I like some of it so I decided to post it anyway
